Our fantasy games do away with the stale draft format in favor of an auction-like contract negotiation system - the Free Agency Blitz - where players go on the market and each GM is able to tender them 1, 2, or 3 year offers. As the players come off the market they will take best offer taking into account the offered salaries, years, clauses, as well as their age and relative skill level in their league. These contracts make for a natural "keeper league" since any player signed for 3 years is really on your team for 3 years (unless you trade them and their contract, of course).

At some sites - once the draft is over - so is the fun. But at GameDayRitual - there's a lot more to fantasy baseball then just building your team during the Free Agency Blitz (FAB):

  • Build your own stadium: Drop a short porch in right an then go out and sign a lefty slugger. Or build a pitcher's park and then load up your staff. Real park factors will factor into your scores.
  • Batting Order: Acquire a lead-off hitter and be rewarded when they steal bases and score runs. Sign a marquee slugger and drop him in the cleanup slot for HR and RBI bonuses.
  • Pitching Rotation: Should you put your ace up against your opponent's? Get bonus points for winning starting pitcher matchups.
  • Backup players: Your shortstop pulls a muscle and is day-to-day? No problem - your backup will play out the rest of the week for him.
  • Pitch Around: Someone on the other team is hot? Pitch around them to lower their points (only to boost the trailing hitter).
  • Prospect Draft: Just when we get to the dog days of summer comes the June GDR Prospect Draft where each GM drafts the rights to up-and-coming stars.

It sounds cliche - but there's still a lot more! Middle relievers, utility players, no trade clauses, a virtual series option that see you finishing witha full 162 games played... And this is all with the excitement of real stats - GameDayRitual is not a simulator.

Strategy elements abound in our football game. Put your knowlege of X's and O's to the test:

  • Build your own stadium: Build a dome to support a high-flying offense, or locate your team on a frozen tundra to force a grind-it-out style of offense.
  • Offensive Schemes: Run the West Coast offense and be rewarded if your players throw and catch lots of short passes. Or go with the Power Run and play smash-mouth football. There are five schemes to choose from.
  • Defensive Schemes: Run out of the 3-4, 4-3, 46, and other defensive setups. Set up your defense to stop the styles of best teams in the league.
  • The Playbook: Each week you can mix up the formations you play out of - which affects the playing time of each of your positions - and serves to give the opposing offense or defense fits trying to pin you down.
  • Blitz: Your opponent have a weak offensive line? Your 'D' loaded with sack-machines? Then blitz your opponent's brains out and be rewarded.
  • RB Management: You won't be starting 4 RBs at GameDayRitual (that's not real football!) - but you can manage a pair of backs to provide each of them rest and boost their output.

And yes - there's still a lot more! Performance bonuses, depth charts that ensure your covered if your starter doesn't play, experience bonuses as you stick with your offensive or defensive schemes... And this is all with the excitement of real stats - GameDayRitual is not a simulator.

about GameDayRitual

The Free Agency Blitz (FAB) aspect of GameDayRitual takes fantasy sports to a new level: bidding against other owners, handing multi-year deals - it all adds up to a unique experience!

Byron Cox, Founder, RotoJunkie.com

This website is amazing... it’s only a matter of time until more people get all over it.

Mike, GameDayRitual Facebook page

GameDayRitual has taken an old fantasy format, which gets little attention these days, and is bringing it to new levels. GDR is trying to blur the line between fantasy sports and real sports.

Derrick Eckardt, RotoNation

[GameDayRitual] is by far the best fantasy site I've had the pleasure of using.

GDR User kpugs, GameDayRiutal.com forum

GameDayRitual is an excellent product … If you are someone who likes fantasy baseball keeper leagues … GDR is an excellent system that you should look into.
